66 local life Touched by the history and architecture of the building that houses the Hôtel de Ville’s restaurant, she conceived this concept with her husband, Sébastien Bonvin, who manages Le Terminus Hotel-Restaurant. Together, they plan to transform the legendary gastronomic dining room once run by Didier de Courten into a reinvented space — part lounge, part ephemeral gallery. The first event is set for November 28, an evening combining art, discovery, music, and wine. From these encounters will emerge Bala’s works — a series of living paintings incorporating instant Polaroids, illuminated bottles, fragments of glass, and bursts of light. Each will serve as a tangible trace of these meetings and shared emotions. “I want the result to be joyful, full of energy — a reflection of the spirit of Sierre and CransMontana,” she enthuses. HERITAGE AND TRANSMISSION Creativity seems to flownaturally for her —no doubt because she descends from a lineage of artists. Her grandmother wove large wall tapestries, while her mother painted. There was always a workshop at home. “I grew up surrounded by creative women, by needles, fabrics, and paintbrushes. It was only natural for me to continue on this path,” she says. Her own works are not meant to impress, but to awaken — to touch, in every sense of the word. “I seek resonance — the kind you feel in the mountains, through a gaze, through a gesture. When something vibrates, that’s when it’s right,” she concludes simply.
