At this very moment, my father-in-law is looking after the cheese, which shows his commitment and attachment to our family business. There’s no denying that farming requires a considerable investment of time and energy. However, when I look at my sons who have grown up on this farm, I can see how much they thrive in this environment. They have developed a real passion for farming and play an active part in the various tasks required to keep the farm running smoothly. Seeing them grow and flourish in this family and farming environment is touching. Working as a family is particularly important, as it allows us to share precious moments together and pass on knowledge and values over time. The older family members who continue to contribute to the farm are a real source of inspiration and knowhow. Their experience and expertise are invaluable and help to maintain the traditions and farming practices that have made our farm a success. Farming is more than a livelihood. For many, it’s a vocation that unites us as a family and enables us to preserve and perpetuate a rich agricultural heritage. I’m proud to see my sons thriving in this environment and contributing to the prosperity of our family farm. Samuel, Séverine, how are you managing this transition between modernisation and tradition? Today, we’re continuing to keep up with developments in agriculture and to embrace technological advances. Some farmers have even opted to use milking robots and other innovative technologies. Although we haven’t yet taken the plunge into automation, we are aware of the importance of staying at the cutting edge of modern farming practices. For us, tradition and innovation go hand in hand. We’re proud of our history and the knowledge we’ve inherited from our ancestors, but we’re also open to the new possibilities offered by technology. This is how we continue to develop our farm, while maintaining our values of respect for the land, animal welfare and the production of quality cheese. We offer a selection of products from the Valais region, made by hand with milk from our own cows. Our farm aims to showcase the richness of our region. Our flagship products include the famous Valais PDO raclette cheese. We are renowned for the quality and authenticity of this cheese, which accounts for a large proportion of our production. Recently, following the merger of our communes, we adopted the name «Crans Montana», and it is under this name that our raclette cheese is now marketed. We also offer other cheese specialities such as tomme de Randogne and «vieux » cheese. Each product is made and matured on the premises, guaranteeing optimum quality and authentic flavour. We are committed to our traditional know-how, and it is with passion that we perpetuate these cheese-making traditions. It’s important to stress that our production is focused on quality rather than quantity. We concentrate on our flagship specialities, taking care to maintain their excellence and reputation. We are proud to represent the Valais terroir through our products, and we are committed to offering our customers unique flavours, the fruit of meticulous and passionate work.
