119 \ ALTITUDE Trail running, a real asset for the region With more than 50% of the runners coming from abroad, the race attracts trailers from around the world. This sporting event contributes significantly to the local economy by generating a large number of nights and expenses in the region. Each participant is accompanied by an average of two people, either family or friends, extending their stay from two to three days all helping boost the local economy. Thanks to this influx, the event allowed many visitors to discover Crans-Montana, creating the desire to come back to the region, whether in summer or winter to enjoy skiing and other activities. The positive impact of the race on local tourism is undeniable, with 6,000 nights created and about one million injected into the economy. To increase the visibility of the event, live broadcasts are planned this year. The images will be posted on the RTS website in Switzerland, as well as on the French L’Équipe website and on the event’s YouTube channel. Viewers will be able to enjoy superb images of the three races live, the 110 km, the 70 km and the 50 km are concerned. However, this event could not see the light of day without the involvement of 350 volunteers, spread over the course. Among them, some 15 heads of post coordinate the operations. Volunteers can choose from different categories of tasks, such as bibs, flagmen, security, supplies, souvenir prizes, awards ceremony, rescue, etc. A dormitory is offered for their accommodation.
