90 local life as she supported Clara - who first picked up a club aged five - in her quest to master the sport. After Clara's career took off, Manuela decided to get back into the sport in 2018. Her coach Steve Rey worked with her to improve her game. The mother and daughter had been coming on holiday to Crans-Montana regularly since Manuela herself was 12 years old but with her reawakened interest in golf she found herself coming more and more often to the resort and felt herself to be "anchored" here. In 2019 her life changed after a chance conversation with her hairdresser Alexandre Ferreira. Alexandre gives his friends cigars for their birthdays and Manuela realised she could personalise the gifts by engraving them with a laser, a technology she had been working with for more than 25 years in Geneva. Alexandre said: "Can you imagine if you open a shop in Crans-Montana with your concept ?". With that, the idea for a shop was born and Manuela opened the doors to Creativlaser at 13 rue Centrale in December 2019. They offer a range of eco-responsible products that can be engraved with a personalised message such as cups, isothermal flasks, even champagne flutes with your guests' names on them.
